Biography

Kristopher Newbauer, EdM, MHRM, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CPLP, CPT is Head of Global People & Talent (HR) for Rotary International, where he is based at the organization's world headquarters in Chicago, Illinois USA. Rotary is the oldest - and one of the largest - humanitarian service club organization in the world. Newbauer has been with Rotary since 2004 and holds graduate degrees in Global Human Resource Development from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Human Resource Management. In addition, Newbauer holds certificates in human resources from Cornell University, DePaul University, and the American Management Association. Newbauer serves on the faculty in the Department of Literacy, Leadership, and Development in the College of Education at Northeastern Illinois University where he teaches graduate courses in organization development and measurement and evaluation in human resource development. He previously served on the adjunct faculty in the Department of Education Policy, Organization and Leadership in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Newbauer has served on the Board of Directors of the International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET) since 2009, and served as the organization’s president from 2013-14. His current term as a director expires on 30 September 2021. Newbauer has served on the Association for Talent Development (ATD) International Conference and Exposition Program Advisory Committee for the 2017 and 2018 conferences, and he was selected by the ATD Board of Directors to serve as the Chair of the Program Advisory Committee for the 2019 ATD International Conference & Exposition to be held in Washington DC in May 2019. He has spoken at several IACET meetings and ATD conferences. Newbauer was selected as one of the “100 Most Influential Global HR Leaders” by the World HRD Congress in February 2018 in Mumbai, India, where he presented on: “Reimagining Performance Management: Improving Performance, Strengthening Relationships, and Engaging Talent Through the Power of Conversation.”
