Biography

A graduate from Harvard University, An ita has over 20 years experience in training, organizational development, learning and knowledge management fields. Her experience spans a range of industries and locations including the public sector (at United Nations, Vienna), pharmaceutical (at Merind, Mumbai), shipping (at NYK, Tokyo), beverages (at Tata Tea, Kolkata) and IT (at IBM, Bangalore & Mumbai).

Before her current role at IBM, she has held a number of leadership roles including, HR Partner for different Business Units, Management Development facilitator (and ASEAN/SA MD Leader), Head of India Leadership Development, India Diversity Leader, Member of the IBM Global Design Team, and Leadership Development Leader for the Americas, ASEAN, ANZ, Korea, and Japan. Anita was recipient of the Young HR Achiever Award at the World HR Conference in 2003. In 2007, she received a 3 month Chevening Scholarship to study Leadership & Globalisation at the London School of Economics, UK. In 2009, she was awarded the WILL Women's Choice Award for her "deep passion, outstanding commitment, and high delivery in the field of inclusivity and gender equality."

Anita is passionate about sharing her expertise making time to speak at a variety of conferences including the Chief Learning Officer Conference, World HRD Congress, Community Business, CII, AIMA, and NASSCOM sponsored conferences, and more. She has designed and delivered a course on HR in Practice: A Corporate Perspective targeted to honours students of the BMS at Xaviers' College, Mumbai. She has published as well as been interviewed in articles in national magazines and newspapers including the Economic Times, Times of India, Human Capital, Business Today, Indian Management & the like.

Anita is married and the mother of two daughters.
