Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity and inclusion (D&I) are at the core of an organization's culture. Having a diverse and inclusive culture will positively affect innovation and your organization's bottom line.

The world and our industry have never faced more change and opportunity than what we do today. Diverse and inclusive teams have been proven to be more effective, and able to create better economic and social outcomes.

Leaders need to know that they have to build accountability into their systems with regard to their managers taking responsibility for creating a diverse and inclusive work environment. We often see the people at the very top saying all the right things relative to diversity, but their middle management, who really run the organization and create the experience of people who work there, don't understand and don't feel accountable for diversity and inclusion.

Diversity & Inclusion Definition

Diversity Defination

The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. It is the exploration of these differences in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. It is about understanding each other and moving beyond simple tolerance to embracing and celebrating the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual.

Inclusion Defination

Inclusion is a state of being valued, respected and supported. It's about focusing on the needs of every individual and ensuring the right conditions are in place for each person to achieve his or her full potential. Inclusion should be reflected in an organization's culture, practices and relationships that are in place to support a diverse workforce.
